Celebrate a special occasion in style or take a games evening to the next level! Here are some great ideas for your next party with Escape the Crate!
1. Escape the Mardi Gras Murders
In this game, set in New Orleans during Mardi Gras of 2019, you are invited to an exclusive party in the heart of the French Quarter.
The other guests have arrived and you are eagerly waiting for your host and the party to start when the murders begin! One by one, each of the guests is to meet their end and it is up to you to solve the crime before you become the final victim.
Work with your fellow players to solve a series of mind bending puzzles as you work your way through Cajun culture and New Orleans lore. However, this will also a competition amongst yourselves. After each puzzle, a different guest is eliminated in an over the top murder… and it is up to you to compete against your opponents to see who can figure out which of the remaining guests committed the crime!
Create a festive atmosphere with balloon garlands, foil curtains, and strings of beads in green, gold and purple. These colors don’t just look good together, they actually have meaning. You don't have to break the bank either, as most Dollar Stores will have cheap décor and even some hats and masks to dress up with.
The Crewe of Rex gave these colors meaning in the late 1800s – purple symbolizes justice, green stands for faith, and gold represents power.
No Mardi Gras celebration would be complete without delicious food. Your Mardi Gras menu should incorporate a variety of classic dishes that are traditionally eaten during the Carnival season. Jambalaya, gumbo and other Cajun dishes are great choices, as well as beignets for dessert and don't forget the King Cake!

2. Escape: Night of the Vampire
All of the other agents assigned to this mission have vanished!
We have all heard of vampires, but very few of us actually believe in them. Bram Stoker did and he set his famous novel in the very area you are set to explore... for good reason. This area of Romania is known for the whispers of the Strigoi by the locals - troubled entities which rise from their graves to prey on the living.
Your mission is quite simple. You will first need to investigate the crypts in the surrounding graveyard and then head into the halls of the castle. Search for any signs of the missing agents. Recover and rescue any survivors, but be careful.
The communications we have received from inside tell of creatures with fangs and who only rise at night. If that is the case, you might need to brush up on your vampire hunting skills before entering the castle in the second half of the game!

3. Escape: The Games of Olympus
Don't just host a games night - make it an event!
You are being sent back to ancient Greece where a false prophet is spoiling future events and changing history in her wake. The only way to stop her prophecies is to compete in the fabled “Games of Olympus.”
Each challenge will pit you against famous Greek gods, goddesses, monsters, and heroes as you attempt to come out on top. Do you dare enter the maze of the Minotaur or soar into the sky on Apollo’s chariot? Can you face-off against Medusa, or think you can resist the urge to open Pandora’s Box?
Win each of the challenges to take on the prophet and restore history to its rightful path. Can you earn the favor of the gods?

4. Escape: Murders in the Speakeasy
The year is 1928 and Prohibition is the law of the land. Behind the hidden door to the Blind Hog Saloon, however, drinks are pouring, gambling is rampant, and men and women dance the night away to the Charleston. The owner of the speakeasy, Arthur “Goldie” Nickels, rules the shadows and has made thousands by smuggling and selling alcohol…until he was found murdered.
There were only a few suspects around him at the time of his death and it is up to you to find the entrance to the speakeasy, interview the suspects, and to solve the crime.
Unfortunately for you, however, there are multiple weapons, motives, and killers to choose from. In this den of temptation, the murderer strikes again. Another murder sets the scene for the second mystery in the box… one where you appear to be the leading suspect. Solve both murders before you find yourself framed for the crime of the century!

Don't just have a games night - host a party that is to die for! Murder mystery parties are popular for good reason, and you can up the ante by theming yours to a 1920's theme.
Ask your guests to dress in costume and decorate your space with black and gold accents, feathers, pearls and beads. Set up an area for photos with some props and printed signs/arrest boards.
Serve fancy hors d’oeuvres or small appetizers and of course, no prohibition party would be complete without cocktails (and mocktails)! For more party ideas, check out our Pinterest board:
